The Sweetcroft Experience

Sweetcroft have been crafting beautiful family homes in Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties for more than 20 years, quietly building a solid reputation as one of the region’s premier bespoke house builders. We specialise in creating unique, personal homes in highly desirable locations that are designed for today but fit for the future.

Fitting in While Standing Out

Our houses sit beautifully in their environment whilst still standing out from the crowd through their quality, fine detailing, generous living accommodation, low-carbon technology and data interfaces. Each property reflects its location and environment, taking design cues from the local area, often with a contemporary interpretation. We use locally-sourced materials where possible, which helps the property blend with its natural surroundings.

Perfect for Your Family

Whether it’s the spacious connected family living spaces, thoughtfully created home offices or boot rooms with carefully designed storage, we build homes that are perfect for modern comfortable living, for you and your family to enjoy.

Excellence in Every Detail

What separates a Sweetcroft Home from the rest is our attention to detail and diligence at every step of the construction process – in the things you can’t see as well as those you can. We go above and beyond the norm to build you the best home we can, whether it’s the carefully designed lighting schemes, airy internal environments, solid engineered doors throughout or the double tacked and acoustically insulated bedroom walls. Your Sweetcroft Home will be like no other.

Bored of Magnolia?

Standard kitchen not inspiring you? Looking for tiles with more flair? Our team of professionals and suppliers will work with you to personalise your new home for you, depending on the current stage of construction. We offer you the chance to create a truly individual home – from kitchen appliances to feature walls, from beautiful Italian porcelain flooring to stone worktops; it’s entirely up to you. Or if the choice is too overwhelming, we can introduce you to our in-house interior design consultant to guide you through what's available.

green technology & low-carbon living

A commitment to help protect the environment is at the heart of what we do at Sweetcroft. We recognise the environmental issues that the planet is facing and acknowledge our responsibility to future generations. All our homes are created to a high standard of environmental sustainability: we employ a combination of green technologies to help us achieve this goal and as each site is different, a considered combination of these technologies is required. We are constantly striving to improve our designs and construction techniques to build beautiful homes that are future-proof and make as little environmental impact as possible.

Sustainable Technology

We employ many ways of making our homes as sustainable as possible:

  • Air source heat pumps provide sustainable heating and hot water;
  • Low energy LED lights are fitted throughout;
  • Mechanical ventilation with heat recovery gives a cool, dry atmosphere and boosts the efficiency of the heating and hot water;
  • High-specification double or triple glazed windows and doors;
  • Photovoltaic panels generate electricity from sunlight;
  • Underfloor heating is more efficient than radiators;
  • Highly insulated, sealed and pressure tested to produce minimal air leakage;
  • Dedicated circuit in garages to allow for fitting of a car charger.

Quality Control

We know that our developments stand out from the crowd in every respect: starting with the creativity of the design, through the careful construction stages to the way we ensure a meticulously executed level of finish.

From Creation to Completion

We entrust the design of our houses to a creative and conscientious practice of Architects with whom we have worked for many years and who produce exciting, contemporary designs. Our trusted team of professionals are highly experienced in their trades and all share in our vision to produce the best possible properties for our purchasers. We use specialist energy and sustainability consultants to help us meet our aim of bettering the current Part L building regulations (conservation of energy and fuel) by at least 40%. Our development at The Heath was praised by the local authority for achieving energy efficiency improvements of up to 46% over current requirements.

Traditional Methods

Your Sweetcroft home is a carefully considered blend of old and new: new technology to ensure that the highest environmental standards are met, old world methods to ensure that the house will become a perfect family home. Solidly-built, traditional brick-and-block cavity walls are fully filled with the latest high performance insulation and the first floor is constructed from steel webbed timber joists with acoustically dense cementitious screed board instead of regular chipboard. At every stage of the build process we look to exceed Building Guarantee and Local Authority standards. We pride ourselves in our craftsmen who through their skills and our expertise, enable us to deliver homes that are just as beautiful to live in as they are look at.

Rigorously Inspected

Before we even start building your new home, Building Control carry out a full plan check which includes fire safety, structure, drainage, access and energy efficiency. Every Sweetcroft Home is inspected at least ten times during its construction and intensely scrutinised in the final inspection, during which certificates for electrical work, HETAS (for the wood burner), fire alarm, building control, boiler or heat pump commissioning, air pressure test, water usage, energy performance, mechanical ventilation and engineering calculations will be provided to ensure that the highest standards have been met.
