We purchased the old farmhouse, along with its redundant agricultural outbuildings and, working closely with the local planning authority, developed the buildings into two stunning, substantial country homes.
Walnut Barn, purported to be the second oldest barn in Oxfordshire, had fallen into disrepair. We under-pinned, insulated and re-roofed the barn to achieve a Zurich Insurance Warranty and modernised the property with underfloor heating, a state-of-the-art kitchen and a beautiful, bespoke, sand-blasted stainless steel and oak staircase.
The ground floor of the barn features a spacious, open-plan living dining area, opulent and beautifully equipped kitchen and sizeable utility room.
It also boasts a stunning master bedroom with dressing room and en-suite bathroom and three further double bedrooms, all with en-suites.
Honey Bottom Farmhouse posed similar difficulties to the barn in terms of how to update a very old house, while still maintaining its appeal as a character property.
We employed cutting-edge construction techniques to marry old and new, and the result is a substantial stone house in a traditional style with a contemporary open-plan interior, which maximizes its internal space and natural light.
